What Size Bed Is Right For You?
The general rule of thumb on bed size is ‘ the bigger, the better’. The sleep council recommend that the more space you have got, the less disturbance you will have from your partner and you will have a much better night’s sleep. The best way to find out the correct size bed for you is to head down to a store and try out a selection of different beds until you find one that fits your needs perfectly. Make sure that you take your partner along if you have one and lay on the beds, putting your hands behind your head, and if you find that your elbows are touching, you will need the next size up.
There are a large range of bed sizes which are available on the market at the moment, and whether you need a single, small double, double, king size or super king, there are plenty of options available. By far the best way to find out which one suits your needs best is to try them all out in the store and see which suits you best.
Another thing to consider when shopping for a bed is the size of your bedroom. Obviously not everyone has the space for a super king size so make sure that you properly measure your room before heading to the store.
Choosing what type of frame or base you want is also something that you should carefully consider. This is where your budget comes into play as the price can differ dramatically depending on your choice. Metal bed frames offer the most affordable option if you do not have a lot to spend, however if you want to splash out, the world is your oyster. Just some of the bases which you might like to consider are folding, panel, sleigh, Murphy, trundle, standard or day. Sleigh beds, one of the more expensive options, are very popular at the moment and can even come with TVs fitted at the base of the bed.
