Which Hotel Chains Have The Comfiest Beds?
We have all been there. You check in to a hotel looking forward to a lovely night’s sleep, only to find out that the mattress is like a stone slab. You toss and turn all night, but there is just not way that you are going to get a wink of sleep. On the other hands, there are times when you find a hotel bed which seems to be the comfiest thing that you have ever know in your life. So which hotels chains actually have the comfiest beds. in order to try and find out, the team at murphywallbeds.co.uk have done a little experiment and over the last few months we compared beds at four of the UK’s most popular hotels. Read on to find out what we discovered.
Travelodges aren’t the most exclusive hotels in the UK, but they pride themselves on offering affordable accommodation that provides a great night sleep for everyone. the beds are certainly big enough, so there are no complaints there. When it comes to softness of the mattress, it is a question of taste. Some people prefer them softer, while some prefer them harder. For the purpose of this experiment, we were looking for a medium hard mattress, as this is what the majority of people tend to prefer. This being the case, Travellodge scored very well. Our bed tester had a long, uninterrupted night and the pillows were also very much to his liking.
Bed Score: 8/10
Another of the UK’s budget hotels whose advertising is based around how easy it is to get a good nights sleep. Unfortunately, the beds here weren’t quite as comfy as the ones in the Travelodge, however, they were far from terrible. The large pillows, also were not up to the standard of the previous hotel, but were certainly not worth complaining about.
Bed Score: 7/10
Being a more expensive hotel chain, you would expect the beds in a Marriott Hotel to be a different class altogether, and I am happy to report that this is the case. Although not prefect, the hardness/softness of the mattress was very good and the bed size and pillows were excellent too.
Bed Score: 9/10
Another fairly expensive hotel which you would hope has the bed situation fully under control, and again they did not disappoint. Much like the Marriott that we stayed in, the Raddison Blu with its copious pillows, springy mattress and oversized bed, offered a relaxing sleep that felt us refreshed and ready for the day ahead.
Bed Score: 9/10
