Murphy wall beds were established in the U.S.A. many years ago because space was at a premium especially in the overcrowded town-houses where many families with children were forced to live in two room establishments. In order that rooms could be used for both living and sleeping the solution was to stow the bed in the upright position during the daytime and lower it for sleeping which freed up a lot of space for everyday living.

Murphy Wall Beds U.K. is a company established in the new millennium to address the growing D.I.Y. market, and is introducing these space saving fold away beds that can be fitted by any handyman.

The Murphy bed frame and the mechanism has been perfected into a very reliable piece of equipment which can be assembled simply and comes in a flat pack form complete with assembly instructions.
